Royce P. Robins, Jr. age 74, died suddenly in his home July 14, 2008 in Broadus.
Royce was born on October 15, 1933 in Englewood, Colorado the son of Royce P. and Lillian (McKendry) Robins and he attended schools there. Upon graduating from High School he attended the University of Colorado where he played football. He joined the United States Marines and served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1960. He attended the United States Naval Academy Prep School while serving his time and attended the University of Denver after getting out of the service. He married Gail (Bullock) and they had four sons, Jack and Jeffrey, who died and then had Royce III in 1959 and Russell in 1961.
He worked for United Airlines as a Sport Rep for the Baltimore Orioles and Colts and was responsible for the development of air cargo for the Mountain Region. He also worked for Woodruff World Travel, V.P. Sales and Marketing and was responsible for international travel and groups. He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency gathering information and initiating contracts in foreign counties. In the 1970s he went into the Landman business working for Oil & Gas Companies and spent time all over the U.S. and this is what brought Royce to Powder River County where he met Gail (Collins) and they were married in 1984. He gained two step-daughters Melinda and Andrea. Royce also spent time in California working for Add-Vision, Inc, Director of Corporate Security. He had retired this last winter and was looking forward to time at home and time with his family. He very much enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Masons, Powder River Lodge #135, the VFW, and the ScottishRite where he accomplished the 32nd degree. He enjoyed reading, working in the yard, golfing, fishing and working out.
He is survived by his wife Gail (Collins) Robins, two sons Royce III (Shaynon), Russell (Machel), two sisters: ColleenBisgard and Debbie (Skip) Outcalt, two step-daughters: Melinda (Curt) Kelley, AndreaBorla, five granddaughters: Linzie, Rachael and Rebecca Robins, Kaitlyn and Teal Kelley, two grandsons Keldon Kelley and Michael Birch, great great grandchildren:Kaycee, Michael Foster, May Lynna and Hunter, one step-granddaughter Megan, one step-grandson David and several nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by Royce P. Robins, Sr., Lillian Robins, Jack & Jeffrey, sister Jackie Rohweder, his granddaughter Madeline Kelley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus.
