In the early morning hours of July 25, 2015, Ruth (GG) Delila Carlson passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Billings Deaconess Hospital in Billing, MT. GG was 82 years old.
GG was born in the town of Marsh in Prairie County, Montana on October 7, 1932. She was the fourth child of Magdalena and Gottlieb Gaub.
GG’s formative years were spent on the family farm in Marsh playing with her siblings and working on the farm until she moved into Terry MT and worked various jobs then she began working at the hospital. She fell in love with nursing and because of her skills was able to become an LPN through her on the job experience and passing the State Boards. She was an exceptionally compassionate nurse her family was so very proud of.
Ruth married young to the love of her life on March 30, 1950 to Raymond (Sonny) Carlson in Fallon, Montana. GG and Sonny had five children with the fifth child passing away at birth. They raised their children moving to various places before settling in Terry to be near their large families.
GG was always busy with cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, raising her children and caring for her home. When she could find the time she loved to fish and was an avid reader.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (Sonny) Carlson; parents Magdalena Gaub, Gottlieb (GG) Gaub; siblings Ervin Gaub, Edith Rinker, Melisena Reidinger; child Carolyn Rae Huber.
Ruth is survived by her children Kenneth (Jean) Carlson, Gregory (Mary) Carlson, Deborah (Lester) Henry; siblings Edward (Dolly) Gaub, Marion (Pete) Anderson, Dalyce (Don) Record, Jeanette (Marty) O’Dea, Miles (Isabel) Gaub; twelve grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Terry at the Prairie County Cemetery On August 8th, 2015 2:00 PM. A luncheon to follow at the Terry Senior Center.
