Ruth Eldora Brooks, 96, formally of Frazer, MT died Thursday, September 4 at the Valley View Lutheran Home in Glasgow of natural causes. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Nashua. Cremation has taken place.
Ruth was born on September 10, 1906 to George and Clara Johnson in Battle Lake, MN. She married Elbridge Babe Brooks on January 28, 1924. He died in 1974. To this marriage eight children were born, five of who have deceased. Three daughters survive, Elsie Keller, Healdsburg, CA, Darlene (John) Long, Great Falls, MT, and Rachel (Jesse) Bedwell of Glasgow, MT. Also surviving are a sister, Bernice Herman of Nashua, MT, eleven grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth spent several winters in Apache Junction, AZ and summers in Nashua until three years ago when she moved into Nemont Manor. Her last two months were in Valley View Lutheran Home.
Ruth farmed and ranched with her husband in Frazer for many years, along with having a dairy, cooking for places like the Sherman Motor Inn in Wolf Point, Home Cafe in Nashua, Sams Supper Club in Glasgow and the Frazer school lunch program.
