Ruth Prahl, age 94, longtime resident of Miles City passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Friendship Villa in Miles City.
Ruth was born in Stewart, Minnesota on July 20, 1910, the daughter of Franklin and Anna (Pikal) Kuni. The family moved to Oregon, later to Medora, North Dakota where she attended first and second grade. The family then moved to Miles City where she completed grade school and graduated from Custer County High School in 1928. Ruth worked at Woolworths and Beacon Carter Cafe. She then went to work at the Miles City Laundry for over 22 years in the dry cleaning department and later in the office. Ruth had worked part time for the Holy Rosary Hospital Auxiliary placing television sets in patients rooms. Ruth was a volunteer at the Miles City VA until May of 2002. Ruth in her leisure time enjoyed staying in various homes in Miles City babysitting pets while the families are vacationing or out of town. She will always be remembered for her collection of dolls and plates.
Ruth is survived by her sons: Robert (Carol Ann) of Miles City, MT; and Sidney (Margie of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren: Cindy (Jack) Blank of Myrtle, MO; Bill (Joyce)Prahl of Medford, OR; Christina and SarahPrahl both of Alexandria, VA; and one great granddaughter, Keana Prahl of Reno, NV; nephews: Gordon Kuni, Bill (Jan)Kuni, Jon Kuni, JoePrahl, a niece Nancy Stiner; and special close friends Angie and Mel Garrett and Margaret Lyons.
At Ruths request, cremation has taken place with a private family graveside service at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com.
