Ryan Lee LaFayette, 30, of Sturgis, South Dakota died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1982 in Billings, Montana to Randy and Cynthia (Sturdevant) LaFayette. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 2001 and attended a year of college at Black Hills State University. Ryan worked for 8 years at Premier Bankcard in Spearfish and in 2008 he moved to Gillette and worked for First Interstate Bank. Ryan returned to Spearfish in 2009, and most recently has been living in Sturgis, while working in Rapid City at NEW. He also has been taking on-line college courses at Globe University.
Ryan not only enjoyed cooking but had a knack for it. He also enjoyed decorating for the holidays. He was a movie enthusiast and a video gamer. He enjoyed selling Party Lite and working with ceramics and most recently started the art of Origami.
He is survived by his mother and father, Cyndi and Randy LaFayette of Belle Fourche; brother, Jason (Veronica) LaFayette of Belle Fourche; sister, Megan (Michael) Mills of Perry, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother, Ynes Sturdevant of Miles City, MT; life partner, Wayne Grace of Sturgis; nieces, Rose LaFayette, Rayechael Ford, Jocelynn Ford, Bailey Mills, Ana Webber and Jayanah Webber; nephews, Tate LaFayette and Brandon Mills and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Margot LaFayette; maternal grandfather, Gilbert Sturdevant and an uncle, Michael LaFayette.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 14th, at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Burial will follow at the Custer County Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy has always been with this family. Randy and Cindy are truly two of my dearest friends ever and I know that the loss of Ryan was devastating to both.
