Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00 am at the VFW Hall in Jordan.
Interment: Will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan, MT.
Sally Ann Farrand, age 73, of Cohagen passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Sally was born inForestburg, South Dakota on August 10, 1934. Her mother, Selma Aker, a sister to Althea Farrand, died in childbirth, and Sally was adopted by Dr. B.C. and Althea Farrand and moved to Jordan, Montana as an infant. She spent her childhood and school years in Jordan, and after graduating from Garfield County High, she entered Colorado Womens College for two years. She transferred to Washington University, St. Lewis, where she received her Bachelors, and went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Masters in Public Health.
She had a successful career and was a past president of the Association of Physical Therapists of North Carolina. She was an entrepreneur, and started her own Physical Therapy business; she donated many hours and loved her profession. She enjoyed sports, reading and traveling until her health declined, and she moved from North Carolina to the Garfield County Health Center where she had resided since.
Her survivors include a brother Chuck (Mary) Farrand, and sister-in-law, Enid Farrand and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters Maxine Steinfeld and Shirley VanWyhe, and brothers James (Cookie) Aker and Verlyn (Addie) Aker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. B.C. Farrand, and brothers, Weston and Dick Farrand, Clayton, Russell and Jewel Aker as well as Selma and Palmer Aker.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00 am at the V.F.W. Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery.
