Funeral service: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point
Interment: will follow the service at the Vida Cemetery
Samuel A. McClellan, 73, of Vida, departed to his heavenly home Saturday morning December 23, 2006 at North East Montana Health Services Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 21, 1933 in Wolf Point to V.O. and Luva McClellan. He grew up on the family farm east of Vida where he attended country school and later high school in Circle. He worked various jobs until he volunteered for the draft in 1952. He proudly served in the Korean War as a Medical Aide in Medical Company 65th Infantry Regiment. Upon discharge from the army he married Marlene Pawlowski on October 8, 1954. They established their home eight miles east of Vida where they farmed. His greatest joy was sowing his fields and reaping a bountiful harvest. He had an eye for cars and farm machinery and a passion for collecting John Deere toys. He also was a member of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point where he held several different positions. His favorite was Head Usher, where he used his special personality to greet people.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; son, Mike (Pam) of Glendive and their daughters, Brooke, Breann and Nikki; daughter, Brenda (Kent) Lynch of Williston, ND and their daughter, Sarah; son, Russ of Mississippi; son, Lyle of Belgrade and his sons, Tyler, Brett and Travis; sister, Jean Hintz of Vida; brother, Albert (Elizabeth) of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Olney and Luva, and one sister, Lydia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27 at Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point. Visitation is Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Vida Cemetery in Vida, MT. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point is in charge of arrangements.

sams mom and dad were my great aunt and uncle, they were really nice people as was sam and marlene i know he will be missed by all who knew him RIP.
