With hearts full of gratitude for a life overflowing with faith, hope, and love, we announce the passing of our beloved Sandy Regan on February 11th, 2024. Surrounded by the warmth and love of her husband, children and grandchildren, Sandy peacefully journeyed home to the Lord’s embrace. She navigated cancer over the last four years with a hopeful spirit, always with a mindset to embrace the small victories and little blessings.
Sandy, a devoted wife to Jim Regan for 49 years, cherished the love they shared, building a beautiful life centered around their faith and family. She was a loving and nurturing mother to Jeff, Beth, Kathleen and Pat and their families. She adored being “Nana” to her precious grandchildren, Nora, Conor, Riley, Ellie and Colin. One of eleven siblings, Sandy held a special place for each in her heart.
Throughout her life, Sandy’s unwavering faith in God guided her every step. A dedicated member of Sacred Heart Parish, she actively participated in the liturgy commission and music ministries. Sandy found immense joy in the Catholic Ministry and serving behind the scenes. Her quiet faith touched everyone around her, leaving a radiant legacy of love and compassion.
Beyond her Catholic faith, Sandy was known for her positive personality traits like her kindness, her ability to listen and always providing a positive perspective, but nothing could top her ability to give her family a smile with her witty Butte Irish sense of humor.
Sandy was her family’s biggest supporter. She wasn’t the loudest at the games, nor was her voice the most enthusiastic at choral concerts and festivals. She was quietly cheering in the background, always supporting her family’s dreams. Her silent encouragement was always felt while the family practiced their scales, chased touchdowns, shot baskets, or practiced groundballs. Mom would be there, always present in the corner with her unwavering support even in the dimmest moments. She always tried to be unseen, but she was ever present, propelling her family forward with love that spoke volumes without a word.
Sandy loved to cook. She always filled her kitchen with the aromas of love and laughter. Her dinner table was the focal point for connection. There, she fostered communication, shared stories and strengthened family bonds. One of the fondest memories of her children was the warm lunches she always dropped off for them during their school activities. The kids always hoped for her cheeseburgers because they were everyone’s favorite lunch. To this day, we aren’t sure what made them so good, but they were perfect. She always made sure we had a couple of her chocolate chip cookies and some milk to wash them down.
When not delighting taste buds, Sandy could be found outside in her yard. Sandy treated her yard as a blank canvas where she could express her creativity and personality. She loved to be with Jim and choose their annual flowers, designing the perfect layout, and personalizing their yard. Once their hard work was done, Sandy loved nothing more than to sit out on her patio admiring their handywork while drinking her morning coffee or having her family over for a barbeque.
Sandy will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. We find comfort in knowing that she rests peacefully in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
May Sandy’s memory be a blessing, reminding us to live with love, serve with compassion, and find joy in the simple pleasures of life. We are forever grateful for the love, joy, and laughter she brought to our world. In the words of Sandy. “Onward and Upward.”
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Jim Regan, children, Jeff (Beth), Beth (Josh), Kathleen, Pat (Shelby). Her grandchildren, Nora, Conor, Riley, Ellie, and Colin. Her siblings Gail Barrett (Evan), Paul Seccomb (Toni), Margie Britton, Brian Seccomb, Dan Seccomb (Lilia), Pat Seccomb (Marie), Bob Seccomb (Lisa), and Jay Seccomb (Kelley).
