Sanford Berdette Paulson, age 92, of Poplar, died September 26, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Williston, North Dakota.
He was born November 1, 1914 in Lostwood, North Dakota, one of nine children to Lena Bevre and John Paulson. Sanford had a long and interesting work history that spanned railroading, digging ditches for the WPA, cowboying and farming. He worked as a mechanic for Schindleys Pontiac and Moes Chevrolet. In Sanfords younger days he was a member of the Poplar Volunteer Fire Department. Sanford married Bertha Eberling in December of 1939 and they had two sons, Kenny and Wally.
Sanford is survived by his wife, Bertha of Poplar; his sons, Kenny (Shirley) of Dickinson, North Dakota and Wally (Beverly) of Missoula, Montana; six grandchildren: Tim, Rodney, Lori, Kenda, Jacque, and Melody; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter (Alice) Paulson of Moses Lake, Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lena and John Paulson, and seven siblings: Perma Paulson, Clarence Paulson, Jerry Paulson, Lillian Byers, Edna Lucas, Harry Paulson and Leonard Paulson.
His funeral service will be Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Poplar, Montana with viewing one hour before services. Rev. James Isaac will be officiating and interment will follow at Poplar City Cemetery.
