Sarah Abbott

Visitation: Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City

Funeral services: Saturday, January 29, 2005 3:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Miles City.

Interment: Custer County Cemetery

Sarah Abbott, age 91 of Miles City, Montana passed away on Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Fallon County Medical Complex in Baker, Montana.

Sarah was born as Sarah Scherer on April 30, 1913 in McIntosh County North Dakota. Her father was Jacob Scherer of German ancestry that lived in Russia. He migrated to America where he met Sarah's mother Eva Troutman. Together they had nine children: Rudolph, Leah, Pauline, Rachel, Anis, Ruben, Calvin, Ishmael and Sarah. Sarah spent her childhood in Pollock, South Dakota. She married David Wallace and to this union they had three children. Mildred (Millie), Frankie (Frank) and Walter (Wally). She later married Art Peaslee. After his passing she married Jim Abbott. They lived Miles City for several years and then moved to Broadus. After Jim's death she moved back to Miles City for 21 years. She spent 6 months at the Friendship Villa in Miles City and then moved to Quality Personal Care in Baker to be closer to her daughter.

She loved her family and friends. Sarah spent many hours working on her quilts and woven rugs. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Millie Molstad and her husband Dick of Baker, MT; sons: Frank Wallace of Dubois, WY; and Walter Wallace and his wife Lois of Ennis, MT. Grandchildren: LindaMolstad Johnson of Bozeman, MT; DavidMolstad of Salem, OR; Peggy Wallace House of Denver, CO; Joy Wallace Higgins, Sarah Wallace Marsyla and Tammy Wallace of Longview, WA, Carol Abbott Hirsch of Miles City, MT, great grandchildren: Christopher and Chad Johnson, Caleb, Rachel and AaronMolstad, Jessica, Jennifer, Jackie, Michael, Brandi,Breana and Brittany Higgins, Nicole andKistapher Marsyla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's and all of her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 3:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery.
