Scott Tusler was born on August 31, 1964 in Terry. Scott passed away on December 23, 2006 in Cambridge, United Kingdom following a motorcycle accident. Scott graduated from Terry High School in 1983. After high school he attended Montana State University and enlisted in the Montana Army National Guard in the spring of 1984.
In the fall of 1985 he enlisted in the Air Force. Scotts first assignment was as an Apprentice Plumber at Kadena Air Base in Japan. As Airman First Class Scott was reassigned to Wurthsmith AFB, Michigan in April of 1987. Scott excelled as a plumbing technician earning promotion to Senior Airman and then Staff Sergeant. In March of 1989 Scott traveled to Kelfavik Naval Air Station, Iceland as the only plumbing specialist on the SMART team. After a year Scott moved on to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska where he spent the next six and half years. Scott always considered Alaska his second home after Terry. In 1996 Scott began his European tour. He was stationed in Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal(1996-98), Ramstein AFB, Germany(1998-01) andSpangdahlem AFB, Germany(2001-04). In 2004 Scott returned to the states and was promoted to Master Sergeant while at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. While there he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Red Horse Mechanical Superintendent. In September 2006 Scott arrived at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom where he was assigned to the 48th Civil Engineer Squadrons Maintenance Engineering element.
Scott is survived by his father Jerry, sisters Melinda (Ken) Young, Cindy Tusler (Dave George) and brother Bill (Vicky). Also, surviving are nieces and nephews Chris Self, Kristi Young, John Young, Raylene Tusler and Kyle Tusler and friends from all over the world.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat.
Master Sergeant Scott Tuslers natural leadership abilities and unwavering work ethic deserving earned him the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Achievement Medial with four Oak Leaf Clusters. Scott was a guy who went out of his way to make you smile and always succeeded. He enjoyed helping friends, hunting, fishing, traveling and especially traveling on his Harley. He was a wonderful host and tour guide..many family and friends enjoyed visiting him all over the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a fund to support some of Scotts favorite activities including hunters safety, scholarships for technical school and assistance for injured veterans who love to ride.
Please remember he was doing one of his favorite activities on that Sunday morning he was on his Harley on his way to a Fenlanders Chapter meeting.
