Interment: Riverview Cemetery in Circle
Selma Garpestad was born November 16, 1910 and died June 14, 2006.
She was born in Cooperstown, North Dakota, daughter of Aadne and Maria (Gjesdal) Idland. Selma moved with her parents to Montana, settling in the Sioux Creek area near Circle. Selma married Gunlief Garpestad January 5, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, seven sisters, four brothers, and her grandson Lonny Garpestad.
She is survived by her three sons; Arnold (Ethel) Garpestad of Ione, Washington, Gene (Joan) Garpestad and Gordon (Mary Ann) Garpestad of Circle, MT., Grandsons; Bruce (Terri) Garpestad of Spokane, Wa., Mike (Joni) Garpestad of Glendive, Monte (Lisa) Garpestad of Seattle, Wa. And Bradley (Julie) Garpestad of Great Falls, MT. Granddaughters; Diane (William) Brody of Circle, Vickie Bain of Salt Lake City, Utah and Great Grandchildren; Tyler Bain, Nate, Craig, Gunnar, Ryar, Colter Garpestad, Tio Brody, Caitlin, Natalia, Lindsay, Gabriella, Charlotte Garpestad and In law; Lonnys wife, Lana and her children Nicole & Jory.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Circle. Interment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery in Circle. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Circle, MT.
