Shaylee Stollenwerk, 15, of Ashland

August 23, 1997 – February 24, 2013

Shaylee Rae Stollenwerk, Hesta’seve’keseha’e (Snowbird Woman),  was born August 23, 1997 to Paul Stollenwerk and Merrilee Red Robe and she passed away on February 24, 2013.

Shaylee has attended St. Labre since Kindergarten and has been an Honor Roll student always.  She was very active in band, pep band, football for 2 years, basketball for 3 years, and volleyball for 1 year, cheerleader for 6 years and RMC Honors band this year and was a member of the National Honor Society.  Shaylee has been a joy and a bright star for her parents, grandparents, family and friends and she will be missed more than words can express.

Shaylee always had a smile and kind words for everyone.  She was an avid person in the community who went out of her way to see you smile.  She was kind and comforting to all and she brightened every life she met with a genuine golden heart.  Shaylee Rae was an ambitious hunter, loved to go to the reservoir, go boating, tubing and swimming and she also loved music and Art.  A hard worker who put effort into everything she did and was a loyal, devoted friend.

Shaylee won Father Emmett, St. Thomas, St. Mathew, St. Cecelia (Music), excellent attendance, Blessed Mother Theresa, multiple Student of Quarter awards.

Shaylee is survived by her parents, Paul & Merrilee, sisters Breylene (Joey) and Maria, Grandparents Shayla Hagen, Paul “Butch”  Stollenwerk, Georgia (Tommy)  Graham,  Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Auntie Brenda Harris, Great Grandma Bette Peters, and the Carter family.

Shaylee is preceded in death by her Aunts Agnes and Vickie, her Uncle Benjamin, and Great Grandpa Peters.

Our extended family members are too numerous to mention, and we apologize if we did not mention you by name.

A Shaylee Stollenwerk Memorial Fund has been set up at the 1st Community Bank, PO Box 368, Ashland MT 59003 Attn: Lori, in memory of Shaylee.

I knew this great young lady for a short time i was at st. labre, and working this summer at upward bound. i always seen her at ashland merc. she was full of joy, always wanting to have a conversation! always wanting to laugh! our community lost a great young lady with such a big heart. life seems so simple where you meet someone for a short period of time and in that time they had an impact on your life. talking with her, getting to know her, her pride for the purple and gold shined though. our Ashland community, and Brave Nation will always remember this young lady in a good way with all the great memories she has given us. God has taken home his greatest angel.

I Remember when the Chearleading team road on top of the fire truck dureing the St. Labre prade, when we got done Shaylee walked up to me, gave me a hug and said “Thanks for the Ride.” She was always giveing people complments and i never heard her say a mean thing to any one.
