On the evening of April 12, 2016, Shirley was called home to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded and comforted by family during her passing at Powell Valley Health Care Center in Powell, Wyo. Shirley was 75 years old.
Shirley Watson was born in Sterling, Colorado on October 7, 1940. She was the second of four children of Harold and Leta Rodeman.
Shirley graduated from Sterling High School in 1958 after which she continued to live in Colorado
In Shirley’s first marriage she had four children. She was a single Mom for many years.
Her life’s journey took her to Sundance, Wyoming where her four children graduated from high school.
Shortly thereafter, she met the final love of her life, Robert (Bob) Watson from Forsyth, Montana. Bob had two young children when they married and together they raised them.
She continued to live in Forsyth after Bob’s passing because she liked the comfort of a small town life.
She eventually moved to Powell to live with her daughter as her health was failing.
Shirley cherished her family & delighted in spending time with them, as well as her church family & friends. She loved going to church as her health would allow.
During her lifetime she also enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, board and card games & pulling pranks. She was quite the jokester, but was also very loving, caring & giving.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leta Rodeman, and beloved husband, Robert Watson.
Shirley is survived by sisters, Barbara Henry of Sun City West, AZ., and Jeanette Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO., brother, Ken (Elsie) Rodeman of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, sons Chris (Mary) Guimond of Wasilla, AK, Troy (Amy) Guimond of Cheyenne, WY., Todd (Cindy) Guimond of Boise, ID. and Doug (Angie) Watson of Meridian, ID., and daughters, Christine (Dave) Schneider of Powell, WY. and Susan (Greg) Treible of Forsyth, MT. Shirley is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved immensely.
Special thanks to Dr. Paulson and the nurses and staff at Powell Valley Healthcare Center for the tender loving care and support given to Shirley and her family. Special thanks also to Pastor Wisroth from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell for the comfort he provided during this difficult time.
Services for Shirley will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell, WY. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 with reception to follow immediately after.
