Burial: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park, 3605 Grand Ave. in Billings, MT

Spenser John Benson, 22, died Thursday night, December 10, 2009 in Colstrip, from a fatal gunshot wound. He was born June 4, 1987 in Billings, MT.

Spenser was a hard-working young man, who had a persevering spirit. In December 2008 he graduated from Northwest College in Powell, WY with a degree in Welding Technology. He used his metalworking skills to create beautiful original artworks in his spare time. Spenser had many loves, most of which involved the outdoors, excitement, and physical activity. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, and even rode bulls in high school.Spenser was a member of the BOILERMAKERS Local #11 and worked for NAES Power Contractors at Colstrip Generator Stations. Spensers greatest love however, was his 3-year-old son, Landyn. Spenser was the greatest dad.

Spenser is also survived by his parents, Jeff & Debi Benson of Colstrip; his sister Amber Leigh Benson of Riverton, WY; his grandparents, Mary & Bill Jergler of West Middlesex, PA; and Belle Benson of Billings; and many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

Spenser is preceded in death by his brother, Zachary Benson.

In lieu of flowers, donations for an education fund for his son Landyn Benson may be sent to EnerGComm Federal Credit Union at 421 Willow, P.O. Box 1914, Colstrip, MT 59323.
