Stanley Karl Munson, age 70 of East Helena, passed away at his home May 6, 2010. He was born October 2, 1939 to Sigurd Matthew and Ruth Evelyn (Colvin) Munson in Helena.He attended elementary schools in Helena and graduated from Helena High School in 1958. He was enlisted in the Montana National Guard form 1956 and was honorably discharged as he retired as Chief Warrant Officer Three in 1999.
He married the love of his life, Margaret K. Griffiths, July 21, 1959 in Cour D Lane, ID. Stan worked for the State of Montana Dept. of Military Affairs Post Engineers from 1962 through 1994 and the United States Property and Fiscal Office from 1961-1962. He enjoyed spending time with his family, John Deere Tractors and traveling.Stan was an active board member of the Montana Army National Guard Credit Union and the Fort Harrison Service Club. He enjoyed being involved in Boy Scouts program in Helena.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Sig Munson.
He is survived by his wife, Margo of East Helena, his children, Stanley (Cyndy) Munson, Jr. of Helena, Everett (LeeAnn) Munson of Amanda Park, WA, Kelly (Bill) Samuelson of Helena, Tessa (Phil) Woodbridge of Tacoma, WA.; 12 grandchildren: Stan III, Erin, Jeffrey, David, Jacob, Matt, Nathan, Megan, Karl, Joseph, Jordan & Jennifer and 1 great-grandchild Jernie; his mother, Ruth Munson of Helena; brothers Russell (Wanda) Munson of Cardwell and Ted (Kay) Munson of Great Falls.
Private family interment with military honors accorded by the Montana Army National Guard Honor Guard will take place at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison.
