Starleen Faith Littlebear-Medicine Top Ota’taveenov’ae (Blue Tipi Woman) of Billings formerly of Busby went home to be with the Lord and journeyed home to Maheo’o on September 15th, 2022.
Starleen AKA as Star was born to LeAnne Littlebear & Emmette Medicine Top Sr, in Crow Agency MT. Star was named after her aunt Aline Killsontop of Busby MT and was very proud of her Cheyenne name.. Star was raised at our family homes in Busby and Birney MT growing up with her cousins, Allison, JD, Diandra Littlewhiteman, and Dylan Killsontop. She received her education attending Northern Cheyenne Tribal Schools until 2005 when she met her first love William Paul Jefferson and made her home in Lodgegrass briefly and raised her children Lilly Joy Jefferson and Shylen Adam Lee Jefferson. Star loved spending time with our grandmother the late Elsie J Russell and enjoyed learning how to quilt, cook, make bread and learn our Cheyenne language and traditions. She also loved the game of basketball where she was proud to have been a Busby Eagle.
Star was very proud to have been an aunt and loved her special nieces ReeAnne, Rylei and nephews Leo, Baby Mike, & Yiya like her own children but shared a very special bond and referred to “Baby LeighAnne” as her “best fwen”. Their bond was unbreakable and no amount of time or distance could come between them.
Star joined the workforce doing various jobs including Customer Service, Housekeeping and was briefly in the Food Service Industry.
Our beloved sister was a free-spirited person who followed her own path and danced to the beat of her own drum, under big sky country but being have been proud to have made her way to Seattle WA, where she stayed for one summer and fell in love with the Seattle Seahawks.
She met a lot of people from all walks of life and passed no judgment always remembering to help those in need even if all she could give was a listening ear or her last dollar.
Star leaves behind her children Shylen & Lilly Jefferson, her father Emmette Medicine Top Sr; grandfather, Dr. Richard Littlebear, sister’s Sabette (Levi), Shacheen (Mike), Suzie, Caelan, Keshia (James), Jaleesa (Frank) and Josie, brothers; Emmette Jr, Rodrick, Kevin (Kori), Latrell (Sidney), Ean (Eva), Lawrence (Kiann) her favorite uncle Vernon (Carla), Frank Spang nieces; LeighAnne, ReeAnne, Rylei, Amaya, Kiana, Oaklyn, Kyree, Echo, nephews, Leonidus, Michael Jr, Azariah, Devin, Rodrick JR, Jaxon, Michael , Willis, Maddox, special aunt’s, Avis King Fisher, Corrine Russell, Jenny Killsontop, Alice Faye, Betsy Littlesun and Rhonda Busenitz, special friend Jessie Little and Kimo Lopez.
