In Memory Of

Stephanie Irish, age 66, of Miles City

October 22, 1956 – December 10, 2022

Stephanie L. Irish was born October 22, 1956, in Joplin, Missouri to Doug and Ann Mooney. She attended elementary and high school in Anderson, Missouri. On December 10, 2022, Stephanie passed away after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. It was a strong fight right up until our Lord chose to bring her beautiful soul home.

In the late fall of 1983 Stephanie, a single mother of Gentry and Ryan, met Arley Irish, a single father of Jill and Patrick. They were married in Joplin, Missouri May 26, 1984, and became a blended family of 6. In 1987 Carrie was born, thus completing the family. They moved to Belgrade, Montana while Arley attended MSU Graduate School. Arley was selected to the Military Physician Assistant School and Stephanie accepted the role of dedicated military wife and mother. The family enjoyed multiple assignments that included tours to Germany, Ft. Bragg, NC, San Antonio, TX and Ft. Hood, TX.

Following retirement from the military, Stephanie and family moved to Miles City, Montana where Arley was employed at Holy Rosary Health Care and Billings Clinic. Stephanie worked at Holy Rosary for 3 years during that time. Upon the opening of Vintage & Rustic, she started working there in 2018 until her passing. She became known for her homemade pies (although she never made one for her family!)

During their vacation travels, she enjoyed multiple RV trips with her favorite being the trips to the Oregon Coastline. In 2022, she and Arley had the wonderful adventure of the Danube River Cruise and driving tour through Norway and Sweden (despite lost luggage) with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Shelly Romo.

Stephanie is survived by her husband Arley; sons Patrick (Samantha) and Ryan (Katie); daughters Gentry (Zack) and Carrie (Kevin); sister Sandy (Bill); sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jill and her parents.

Her infectious smile, friendship, and extraordinary strength will live on in memories forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stephanie’s name to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, P.O. Box 32141, New York, NY 10087-2141.

Arley and Family, I know there are no words of comfort at this time. Stephanie was truly a blessing to everyone that knew her. She was had a positive attitude after being diagnosed with Cancer, and thought like a true warrior. Her Faith never weakened after the many times Cancer raised it’s ugly head, but I knew her body had grown weak, but we all prayed for a Miracle. I know she was prepared with what ever direction God took her, and was at peace with it. Go Rest High on that Mountain, and enjoy this New Beautiful World surrounded by your Savior Jesus. Love you my Friend.

I am rejoicing not for your departure here on this sin filled earth, but that you are in the presence of God.

I’m so sorry for your loss!!!

I have fond memories of stopping by your place on the way to Grandma and Grandpa’s. I was always grateful that you guys would open up your house to me. My favourite memory of the both of you is when I was 15 and we stayed a couple of days. I remember going to Old Town someplace. I remember the freezer stock full of ice cream. I remember the way you guys would smile at me, everyone, and especially each other. I remember the light banter between the two of you. Although I never spent much time there, I always felt safe and cared for. Thank you so much!!!

I pray for your peace, comfort, and strength!!

I remember with such excitement & anticipation her very first arrival was, not only by her overjoyed parents and sister but all of our cousins. aunts , uncles & grandparents. She was a long awaited baby. and she did not disappoint! She was adorable & charming as she grew in grace and beauty. I adored her, and her gorgeous big brown eyes. She was the cutest little thing!
She was a treasure and she will always be remembered, and I am so sorry for the huge vacancy she leaves in your family, but she left a beautiful legacy of love and tenderness, fun and beauty. Shewi bd remembered in love and joy.
May the Lord give generously His presence in the Holy Spirit, The Comforter. Cherish the sweet memories and dont grieve too long, for she is well and rejoicing with her Savior, along with her parents, and grandparents and so many of our family that await us in heaven. Dont disappoint her, be there, it will be a big celebration! To God be the glory.
I am a first cousin, her mother was a sister to my mother, Lena. We lived about 30 miles apart growing up, and spent lots of joyful days together! Those memories are precious & fun.
