Stephanie Michel Shields Good Soldier, age 20, was born in Poplar, Montana on November 1, 1983. She passed away into the spirit world on November 20, 2003.
Her friendly smile and love for animals and stuffed toys always adorned her room, but her most loved treasure was her only child Leonna. It was a happy life for Stephanie to be around her baby. Stephanie was a cheerleader at Poplar High School. She loved to listen to music and visit her aunts Cheryl Cantrell and Arleda Shields. With a heart like Stephanies one could not help but love her.
Stephanie leaves behind while on her spirit journey her father Kenneth Shields and her mother Judy Shields. Her adopted parents Ambrose and Serena Good Soldier of Fort Kipp. Brothers, Harold and Leland Firemoon, Kenneth Shields III all of Poplar, MT. Sisters Tammy Shields, Regene Shields, and Crystal Firemoon all of Poplar, MT. Uncles Darrell, Lester, and Russell Shields, all of Poplar, MT, John Boyd, Johnny Boyd, Vernon Boyd, David Boyd, and Mike Boyd. Aunts Cheryl Cantrell, Arleda Shields, Debbie Colgan and Sybil Summers. Grandmothers Mercy White Bear, Rosanne Boyd, Nellie Silk, Louise Yankton, Elsie King, Josephine, Carol and Catherine Spotted Bird, Darlene Grey, and Shirlene Greed. Grandfathers Leland Spotted Bird, Caleb Shields, Dawson Firemoon, Julian Shields and Robert Firemoon. And numerous cousins who will miss her dearly.
Stephanie had a very special and loving companion, Eddie Black, who loved her with all his heart.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Mr. Tom Atkinson Jr., Bear First, Jason Shigley, the medical personnel, other law enforcement officers and Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel for all their support. Stephanie has a very special aunt Veronica Firemoon who always extended a helping hand. Stephanie we love and will miss you dearly, but we know that we will see each other again. Heavenly Father knows the goodness of your heart and the harsh circumstances and the suffering that you endured. He holds you in his bosom.
A visitation will be on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 3:00pm at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT a prayer service will begin at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 10:00am at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, MT. Interment will follow the service at Ft. Kipp Cemetery in Ft. Kipp, MT.
