Steve McCollum

Visitation: Thursday February 26, 2009 at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Family to Receive Friends: Thursday February 26, 2009 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Funeral Service: Friday February 27, 2009 at 10:30am at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Interment: Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579.

Steven Oneal McCollum, age 41, of Miles City passed away on Sunday February 22, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

Steven was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, The son of Dennis and Erma (Betz) McCollum. He graduated from Celeste High School in Celeste, TX. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served during the Persian War Conflict for 5 years and 6 months. In 1991, he was honorably discharged from the service and he moved to Texas where he worked as a plumber, chef, and truck driver. In 2007, he moved to Miles City where he went to work for Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility as a correctional officer. Steven took great pride in his work and tried each day to teach the youth that they could have a life beyond those walls someday with hard work and determination.

He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and the truest of friend. His philosophy was simple; everyone deserved respect.

Steven is survived by his wife, Angelica Johnson-McCollum of Miles City, Mt; two sons; Travis McCollum of Tacoma, WA and Austin Johnson of Azle, TX; three daughters Morgan Johnson of Fort Worth, TX; Karrin McCollum of Miles City, MT; Brittney McCollum of Miles City, MT; a very special mother and father-in-law Roy and Gail Johnson of Azle, TX; three brothers: Jerry McCollum of Austin, TX; Clint McCollum of Greenville, TX; and Chris McCollum Greenville, TX; and a sister, Christina Lewis of Bellville, IL; and Step-parents, Debbie and John Sills of Comerce, TX.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 26, 2009 with receiving friend from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral service will be held on Friday February 27, 2009 at 10:30am at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Steve McCollum Memorial at Stockman Bank.
