Steve Littlebird, Cheyenne nickname, “Tangled Yellow Hair” was born to the late Harry and Annie Joyce Littlebird on September 2,1949 in Crow Agency MT. and began his journey to the Land of the Beauty (Heaven) on June 1,2024. He came from a large family of 13 siblings, Steve graduated at St.Labre High School. He then went on to meet the love of his life Patricia “Pat” Littlebird, out of this union he had 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
He was an active member of the Native American Church; he was happy to help and pray for friends and family. He attended many sweats and peyote meetings, Steve was honored to be asked to pray at many family gatherings, Steve was a member of the Elk Horn Scrapers Society. Steve worked at the Westmore land energy, he was a tribal judge, he was a jewelry maker, Heavy Equipment Operator with the BIA Construction, Steve was an accomplished beader, and he enjoyed teaching young Cheyenne’s the art of peyote stitch. Steve was a Cheyenne Elder who spoke fluent Cheyenne, he was also known as a Cheyenne Historian, who was very honored to be called upon to do numerous Cheyenne naming ceremonies.
Steve is in proceeded in death by his daughter Denese Irene Littlebird his parents Annie Joyce and Harry Littlebird Sr., His Grandpa Ernest King, His brother Fernando Sr., Richard, his sisters Aurelia, Limona, Serena, Ginger, many loved ones welcomed him into heaven when he made his journey.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Littlebird, His son Aloysius, His pride and joy’s Mae, and James Lee, He is also survived by his siblings: Glenn (Lillian) Littlebird Sr., Angela Littlebird, Ruth Huovinen, Anna, John, and Lance Littlebird; Theresa, Orlando (Jeri) Seminole, Rexx (Fredonia)Brady, Egonn Brady; Max Hiwalker II; Ruth (Mark) Whitewolf, Stacy Bearcomesout, Victoria Elkshoulder, Tonya Russette, Alix Paz, Ernest Robinson; Clarice Walksalong; Harry Jr., (Demetria), Harry III, Randy, and Stephanie Littlebird; Leo (Berta)Conner, Anastasia(Spencer), Coltan (Maddie), Shayla, Dalton, McKade,& Heath Conner, Rosie, Kristen (Chase), Rutger, Richard (Noelle) Waters Rylie Skenadore; Iylene & Heather Littlebird, Winona (Shandon) Wallowing, Junior (Shannon) Littlebird, David Littlebird; Roland Littlebird, Eugene, Fred, Stella and Wilma Blackbear, Jennifer, Robin and Rhea Russette; Kevin and Bryan James, Jackie, Mildred and Pamela Estell, Samantha Alexander, Michael, Rusty and Danielle Limberhand, Megan and John Ridgebear; Adopted daughter; Jennifer Roundstone, Teresa Hunt, and Many, Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Steve had an abundant circle of family and friends who were close. We apologize if we left anyone out as we have a very large family and we honor all Steve’s friends. We also would like to thank the Staff at St. Vincent’s Healthcare as well as special friends who assisted him at home, William Twomoons, Kurt Seminole, Shane Graham and Miles Tallbull.

Prayers for our Littlebird Family. Steve always played a big role in my life. I have a memory of him Grandpa Harry Grandpa Jimmy and my dad from when I was very small drumming and singing peyote songs. He once drove all the way from Oklahoma to make it to one of our meetings.
