Steven Steffans

Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Colstrip, MT. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge

Steven James Steffans, age 51, of Colstrip, MT passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at his home in Colstrip.

Steven was born on June 17, 1958 the son of Ed and Betty Steffans in Sidney, MT. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1976. Following graduation, he attended Billings Vo-Tech. In 1981, Steven went to work for Montana Power Company, now PPL Montana. He was united in marriage to Judy Karen ONeil on July 19, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV. To this union two children, Casey and Carrie were born. Together they resided in Colstrip.Steven was currently still employed with PPL Montana and had been for 28 years. He was a lead man mechanic and his knowledge and work ethic made him a respected co-worker. Steven was a member of the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was also longtime member of the Moose Lodge in Colstrip. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, darts and anything with a motor in it. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His sense of humor will be especially missed.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Judy of Colstrip, MT; his children Casey Steffans of Colstrip, MT and Carrie Steffans of Billings, MT; his parents, Ed and Betty Steffans of Laurel, MT; his grandson Ethan, whom he really enjoyed spending time with; his sisters, Cathy (Jack) of Laurel, MT and Jan (Dave) of Olympia, WA; and his brother Tim (Michelle) of Laurel, MT. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the United Way or to a charity of donors choice.
