A funeral service for Sue E. Kirschenheiter, 87 of Richardton, formerly of Taylor, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton, ND, with Father Boniface Muggli OSB celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Lefor, ND.
Visitation for Sue will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, with a Rosary being held at 7:00 pm.
Sue passed away Thursday, November 06, 2014 at Richardton Health Care in Richardton, ND.
Sue was born in Stark County on November 19, 1926 to Carl and Kathryn (Rieth) Vogle. She grew up on the family farm south of Richardton and attended Aurora 3 Country School. Sue married Frank Kirschenheiter on September 10, 1946 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. To this union five children were born: Mary Ann, Frank, Susan, Diana and Carl. Sue worked alongside Frank on the farm until he passed away in 1971. She continued to work on the farm while taking employment at the Richardton Health Center. After 20 years of service at the Richardton Health Center, Sue retired. She continued to make her home in Richardton for the rest of her life.
Sue enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking, baking, and gardening. She made a quilt for every child, grandchild and great-grandchild. Along with being a 4-H Leader, Sue was involved in many organizations, such as, PTA, Homemakers Club, St. Joseph’s Verein, Christian Mothers, VFW, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Richardton Senior Center.
Sue is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Ray) Hauck of Dilworth, MN, Frank (Earlene) Kirschenheiter of Richardton, ND, Susan (Jerry) O’Daniel of Miles City, MT, Diana (Duane) Dvorak of Dickinson, ND, and Carl (Deb) Kirschenheiter of Taylor, ND, and sister-in-law, Angeline Vogle and children Heather O’Daniel of Tulsa, OK and Sean O’Daniel of Las Vegas, NV
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Kathryn Vogle; her husband, Frank and her brother, Raymond Vogle.
