Sue Kuehl, 74, of Miles City passed away November 9, 2012 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. She was born April 15, 1938 in Bozeman to David and Ella Rivenes.
She attended college at the University of Montana, then went on to marry David Kuehl. They moved to Montgomery, AL where she had the love of her life Patricia Ann Kuehl at Maxwell Air Force base. They then relocated to Japan for a few years, and back to Sue’s favorite place of them all Miles City, Montana.
Sue was secretary at numerous schools in Miles City, retiring at Jefferson Elementary. After retirement she started her Avon business, which she loved and it kept her busy. One thing Sue had, a great amount of friends, and the time for them. If you came to visit her you always had a cup of coffee, and wonderful conversation.
Sue was a great mother and an even better grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Charles), granddaughter Suella, and two sisters Sigrid and Jen.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist church at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 13 arrangements made by Stevenson and Son’s Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, and the Fun2U Pool Fund in care of Sigrid Laird.

Life is sometimes not fair, however, God chose one of his earth angels to go and be with her mom and dad because he could see that she was tired and needed to be with them once again. We lost a beautiful soul and they gained the angel. Sue’ s love for her daughter and her family were very evident, but she loved everyone who she called a friend and we will have to sustain our loss with our memories and good times with her. She will never be forgotten as she was a special lady to many, many people! May God’s love see you through this most difficult time…

Dear family of Sue,
My first memory of Sue was of her, along with her whole Riveness family , singing in the church choir at First Lutheran Church on Lake Street in the 1950s. There was no better example of family togetherness than of the Rivenesses I have many more memories of Sue all related to her church activities.
My sympathies to you all. You have been blessed by her life among you.

The loss of Sue runs deeper than you know. My memories go back to childhood and include days and days of being with Jen, Sue, and Sigrid and, not the least, with Ella, a surrogate mother. A personality bigger than life, always laughing, and funny, funny, often making fun of herself. This is a heartbreak of great proportions, such a big chunk of our childhood, gone.

Sigrid, Jen, Patti and Sue Ella,
I am so glad I got to see Sue and Ella a couple of years ago. I was with my sisters Jean and Sarah and husband Brad. We had such a wonderful visit with both of them and had a hard time leaving. My husband told Sue that we were “professional leavers.” She laughed her memorable laugh over that. She was always so kind to us as little kids and really paid attention to us. I also remember her eavesdropping from the next room while I interviewed for a P.E. job a zillion years ago at CCHS. She gave me the AOK as I passed by her desk but it was not meant to be. My sympathies to all of you.
Carrie Pellett says
So sorry! I just loved Sue – always smart, funny and genuine. I feel lucky that I got to see Sue in 2010 at the Airport Inn. Loved Dave and Ella, too – remember them from swim team days. I still hang the Xmas stockings Ella knitted for me as a wedding gift.

Sue is sadly missed by so many people. She was a ray of sunshine who was always joking and smiling about something. I had the pleasure of knowing Sue through Avon Productst Inc. Sue always kept us on our toes at our meetings and always shared a fun experience that made everyone laugh. Sue received the “Spirit of Avon Award” for her love of the business and her faithful Avon customers. Sue was the best. Rest in peace my dear friend…..My deepest sympathy
to the family.
