Susan Carlson

Wake Service: Sunday, December 17, starting at 7:00 pm at the St. Labre Catholic Social Room

Funeral Service: Monday, December 18, 2006 at the St. Labre Catholic Church with mass at 11:00 am and interment at the family ranch south of Ashland

Susie Yelloweyes Carlson (Aenohovohosoe) Hawk Playing Woman passed away in Billings, Montana on December 11, 2006.

Susie, a Northern Cheyenne, was born in Ashland, Montana on March 11, 1942 to Oliver Yelloweyes and Margaret Fox Yelloweyes. The family home was the original allotted home site of Abram Yelloweyes. Susie lived all her life at this home site and she raised her family here until illness took her away to a convalescent home in Billings, Montana. Susies children were her pride and joy and she enjoyed going to their events. The family was very active in sports and during her early life, Susie and her husband Cowboy Carlson participated in pro-wrestling. Susie comes from a rich ancestry that she was very proud of and through one of her ancestors, Chief Crazy Head, she inherited many relatives. Susie married Orville (Cowboy) Carlson.

Susie is survived by her children Orville Lee Carlson, Jr., Susie Carlson, Jr. and Danny Carlson and sixteen grandchildren. Brothers and sisters are Christopher (Mona) LaRance, Albert LaRance, Sr., Andrew Yelloweyes, Delores (Stan) Morgan, Joann (John) Yelloweyes Puckett and Jeanette (John) Stetler of North Carolina; one adopted sister, Amy Foote; step-children David and Mona Carlson of California, Michael Shane Carlson of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.Susie was preceeded in death by her husband of 45 years, Orville (Cowboy) Carlson, Sr.; her parents; brothers and sisters David Yelloweyes Arnell, George Yelloweyes, Gilbert Yelloweyes, Mary Jane Seminole, Laura Bryan, Erma Jean Schuessler.Our family includes the families of Two Bulls, Red Bird, Big Head, Bahr, Bearcomesout, Red Woman, White Dirt, King, Seminole, Old Elk, Rowland, Two Two, Spotted Elk, Medicine Top, Belly Mule, Fox, Onion, Birdinground Head Swift and Little Bird. If we have forgotten anyone please accept our apologies. We have a large extended family.

A wake service will be on Sunday, December 17, starting at 7:00 pm at the St. Labre Catholic Social Room.
