Tami McCullough, age 59, of Ashland.

April 5, 1958 – October 23, 2017

Tami McCullough, age 59, of Ashland passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at her home in Ashland.

Tami was born April 5, 1958 in Billings, Montana to Harold and Mary Ann (Irion) McCullough. Tami completed her elementary school years at Ashland Public School and graduated from Powder River High School in 1976 from a class of 76 students.  Tami was an honor student in high school and was active in extra-curricular activities.  She was a wrestling cheerleader for years and lettered in track.

Tami attended business college and MSU in Billings following high school graduating and later completed a degree in Business Management. She worked many jobs as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk.  She spent the last 27 years working for St. Labre Indian School as an accountant.

Tami married Mike Miller in 1979 and they adopted a son in 1983, Lonnie James. Their daughter Kimberly Ann was born in 1985.  Mike and Tami divorced in 1989 and Tami and her family returned to Ashland.  Tami adopted her grandson James Dean in 1997 and raised him with her family.

Tami was preceded in death by her father Harold. Survivors include her son, Lonnie (Shanaya); daughter Kimberly Ann; grandsons James and Grayson; mother Mary Ann Irion McCullough; sister Tara McCullough-Wells; brother Tom Yellowtail (Amy); aunt Glenda Somers and many first cousins and extended family of the Irion’s and McCullough’s.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Labre Mission. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

    When I started work at St. Labre she made me feel so welcomed during breaks I would go sit and visit with her. She was always telling me stories about her life experiences and I will truly miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Heaven gained another angel.

I will always remember the class of ’75’ being out-yelled by the class of ’76’ during the pep assemblies as they were the bigger class.     To Tami’s Family…My dear James, Your Mom had a way of making one feel so special through all the little thoughtful things she would do. Did any of us realize how ill she was?     So saddened by Tami’s passing. I have such fond memories of her from high school. I pray for comfort for everyone in her family, and all of those close to her now.     Again, I want to say how sad we are at the loss of your grandma/mother James, and the rest of the family. I will always be grateful Christian had a second home at Tami’s, and that you took care of him at times like when he broke his arm on the four wheeler.
