In Memory Of

Tammy “TJ” Olson, age 49, of Miles City.

August 13, 1971 – January 16, 2021

After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Tammy (TJ) Olson, stepped from this life and into the next, surrounded by her husband and children and the prayers of those who loved her. It is a loss that will be felt deeply and for a long time to come. Tammy was fortunate enough to find the love of her life at a young age. She married Wade Olson June 17, 1989. An inseparable pair, they did everything together, side by side, always a team. Despite the hardships they faced, and the curve balls life threw their way, they stuck together, and the difficult times, only served to make their bond that much stronger. They were true soul-mates. It was into this strong and loving foundation, that their children, Dannon Marie (1996) and Traven Wade (1999) were born. Family was everything to Tammy. She and Wade worked hard to give their kids the stability and security needed for them to thrive. Tammy said that ranching was her dream, her blessing. She felt privileged to raise her children in this environment. The family shares a love of the outdoors, for agriculture, hunting, fishing, and both Dannon and Traven understand the meaning of hard work. Tammy had an unwavering sense of right and wrong and no matter what the current dictates of society, Tammy stuck to her convictions. This is evident now in the lives of her children who were raised with a lot of love, discipline and a ton of humor! Tammy was content knowing that both of her children are doing what they love and that she was able to attend Dannon’s wedding to Jake. Most important, she was proud that her children have become adults who have values and standards. Tammy considered her children to be the greatest accomplishment in her life and her greatest joy was corresponding with her adulting children.
Tammy’s mama heart was expansive and included more than just her own children. She opened her heart and her home to her “adopted sons” Casey and Chris Todoroff, Austin Rehbein, Nate Simpson, Max Wise and Cody Bean. She loved having her boys around and did whatever she could to make them feel like part of her family and keep them on the right path. Tammy had a very close circle of friends. She had a gift to be able to read people upon meeting them. She had many friends and they are all wonderful, down to earth people. She never wavered in her devotion to them. She was loyal, faithful and true. She was not fake and no one ever had to guess where they stood. Tammy was generous, kind, and caring; giving of herself without ever expecting anything in return. She was the friend you could call at 3 in the morning and she would always answer and help in any way she could. Tammy would say she was a jack of all trades but a master of none, however, this could not be farther from the truth. She was a master of many. Tammy loved music and played many instruments well, including the fiddle. Many hours were spent playing along with her Uncle Mike Davis and cousin, Dusty. Music was only one of Tammy’s many talents. She loved to create. Whatever medium she used, the outcome was impeccable; her attention to detail so evident. From sketching to leatherwork, pottery to flower arranging – there is something to appreciate in every piece she made. In her professional life, Tammy created masterpieces as well. Not only did she ranch, but she worked as an independent contractor in construction, was a taxidermist, an artist, and a teacher’s aide for a time- she would joke that she did whatever she had to in order to feed her kids (and cows). But she eventually found something that combined her love of hunting, animals and art.
She opened TJ’s taxidermy in 2007 and worked hard to build her business until her disease prevented her from continuing. It is from this devastating disease, that Tammy is finally free. Tammy’s faith in Christ was evident in her every day life and a source of comfort and strength as her sickness progressed. She is now at peace – far beyond the reach of this chaotic world. She has found healing, rest, joy, love and comfort in the arms of Jesus. She will never again know sorrow or pain. Tammy will live on in the memories of those who love her. We will carry her in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert (Bob) Davis; her maternal grandmother, Dolly Seabolt and her Aunts Ruby and Linda. Tammy is survived by her husband, Wade Olson; daughter, Dannon (Jake) Gibby; son, Traven Wade Olson; mother, Mary Seabolt Davis; sister, Jackie Davis and niece Sherri; Uncle Mike Davis (Patsy) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; adopted kids, and grandkids.
