Tashina Rose Abel “Otsee ṁėh’e “Brave Woman” went to be with Maheo on July 2, 2013. Tashina was born in Billings Montana on March 13, 1987 to Sativa Red Woman and Lawrence G. Anderson. She went to school at St. Labre and Lame Deer High School.
At the age of 16, Tashina was in a traumatic vehicle accident that almost took her life. But due to her strong spiritual beliefs and strong knit family they were able to pray to the Creator to let her have more time and he granted their request. She spent a lot of time recovering from the accident and was not always happy with the results but she never let it get her down. She was a very strong and brave young woman. Tashina moved to Billings to be close to her mother at the age of 18. In the years that she lived in Billings she became very close to her mother, who was her caregiver and friend. She loved to spend time with her family and especially loved her cat Lovelace. She took pride in being a pow-wow traditional dancer, participated in sweat lodges, Native American church. Tashina loved all the Traditional food prepared by grandmother Birdwoman.
Tashina is survived by her mother and father, Sativa and Lawrence, siblings Tonio Montana and Rolland Abel, grandmother Rosalie Birdwoman, great-grandmother Susan Tallwhiteman (Cain), special nieces Treslyn Jefferson, Mellina R. Abel, Cheylyn R. Curley, Kitana R. Abel, Envvy R. Montana, Kyra Montana, Mary Jane Abel. Tashina loved all her nieces.
Tashina is preceded in death by her grandfather Gerald Red Woman.
Our families include the Clubfoot, Tallwhiteman, Red Woman, Littlebird, Bearcomesout, our family is large so if we have forgotten to mention anyone we apologize.
Traditional Wake will be Friday, July 5, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Rosalie Birdwoman home, 4 ½ miles East on Highway 212. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 6:00 AM at the Rosalie Birdwoman home, 4 ½ miles East on Highway 212. Burial will follow in the Redwoman Family Cemetery in Ashland. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Tashina Rose Abel – I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in many beautiful memories and talents of Ms. Abel at this difficult time. The Bible gives us hope that soon the Creator will end all suffering, pain, and death. (Revelation 21:4) Also we have the hope of again being with our loved ones who have been resurrected (John 5:28-29). The promise of Paradise, the perfect conditions God intended for mankind in the Garden of Eden will be fulfilled including God’s “will being done as in Heaven also up on Earth “(Matt 6:9, 10). Please continue to learn about the many comforting promises in the Bible. (John 17:3).
