Ted Pyle

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, December 21, 2007

Prayer service: Friday, December 21, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City, MT

Funeral Service: Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City, MT

Interment:will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery

Ted Howard Pyle, age 55, of Miles City passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 as a result of a truck accident while doing what he loved, working.

Ted was born on September 26, 1952, the son of Don and Lois (Smith) Pyle. He attended grades 1-4 at Garland Country School on Tongue River before attending Lincoln and Washington Middle School. He attended Custer County District High School where he graduated as Senior Class President in 1970. While in school he was active in 4-H and FFA and worked for his father at Pyle Inc. Construction. He attended one year of college at Bozeman before returning to Miles City where he worked for the family business. On October 23, 1981 Ted married Peggy Weikert in Miles City. Ted along with his brother Donald Berl worked for Pyle Inc. which Donald L. and Lois Pyle formed earlier. Ted and Donald Berl continued running the business after the death of their father in 1996.

Ted had a special place in his heart for his family and children. He enjoyed rebuilding tractors and caterpillars with his brother Berl. He enjoyed flying. He and his dad would fly their crews to work sites for a number of years. Ted was given the nickname Ted Pepper Pyle while in flight school in Phoenix, Arizona. He loved his work, animals, and Hershey Almond Bars. Ted was a member of LICA (Land Improvement Contract Association) and served as Montana President. He was supervisor of the Custer County Conservation District, member of the South Central Antique Tractor Association and Rural Fire Department.

Ted is survived by his wife Peggy; two sons: Jeremy (Amelia Cain) and Jesse; two daughters: Jennifer (Rory) Paxson and Stephanie Rooney (Alan Olson); his mother Lois Pyle; a brother, Donald Berl (Cathy) and daughter Michele Roberts (Dave) Simms and her daughter Brooke Roberts; two sisters: Shirley (Walter) Rolf and their children Tonya and Gary (Amber McDowell); and Marilyn (Cliff) Schantz and their children Sabrina (Frank) Wagner and daughter Kenna, Clifford Z. and Shane (Kaci Obergfel) and their daughter Hallie.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery.
