Interment: following the service in Greenwood Cemetery
Theodore J. Kerner, age 91 of Wolf Point passed away June 26, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Nursing Home.
He was born July 11, 1914 to John & Mary Kerner. His parents died when he was little and he never knew them, he had one sister, he never knew her.His grandparents raised him and at 4 years old he went to live with them. Ted went to 5th grade and then had to work, working a lot without pay. He worked 3 yrs at Great Plains. In 1939 he married Olga Knoll, he said with humor he was almost 25 yrs. old and old enough to get married. He lived south of Halliday, N.D for 12 years in the 60s. He farmed and ranched there. He was friends with Max Bifferts and Alton Swenson and many others in the community. In 1948 at a meeting at the Church of God he accepted the Lord. Ted moved to Glasgow, MT to be near relatives after Olga passed away. He worked at Glasgow schools for 17 years. Ted met Vera at the lumber yard where he worked, he said his threw out the hook and caught the fish and they were married at the Assembly of God church there. When he married Vera he welcomed 6 step children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He did maintenance work at the church for years in both Wolf Point & Glasgow. He was very faithful in serving the Lord and others. Later they moved to Wolf Point & resided there for a few years before moving back to Glasgow & resided at the Nemont Manor until Veras death in 1994. Ted moved back to Wolf Point to be close to family. He was also a member of the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship Association. He lived in Wolf Point until the time of his death.
He is survived by 4 step children, many grandchildren & numerous nephews & nieces, also a brother in law from Kellogg, Idaho. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, spouses, and other family members.
Memorial Services are planned for Saturday July 1st at the Assembly of God church in Wolf Point at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
