In Memory Of

Theresa Esser, age 58, of Miles City

August 19, 1964 – October 22, 2022

Rosary and Vigil Service

Funeral Mass

Theresa “T” Lynn Esser, age 58, of Miles City, Montana passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, after a short battle with illness. She was born August 19, 1964, in Miles City, Montana. Daughter of David and Marlene Esser. Theresa attended grammar and high school at Sacred Heart High school where she graduated. Here, she met close-nit classmates, who shared a common faith and love of the Lord. She was passionate about cheerleading and playing softball and would often be found participating in the team activities. She started working at age 16 at Custer County Rest Home in the Dietary kitchen. Theresa then transferred to Holy Rosary Hospital Dietary department secondary to a hospital merger. Here is where she found her call to ministry in serving the Lord by sharing her gifts of patience, kindness and compassion for those in need of God’s love. Theresa’s work ethic, dedication and selflessness earned her recognition and respect amongst peers, co-workers and those she served. She was honored with “Employee of the Year” recognition in 2022.

Theresa had a loving and deep relationship with her three siblings Michael, Linda and Brenda. Spending time with family is the core of who Theresa was. She enjoyed family vacations, attending Mass weekly and celebrating the Lord at Christmas with family. Theresa loved spending time with family/friends and treasured time playing pool with the Parker girls, her “surprise 50th birthday party” and rockin’-‘n’-rolling to Tom Petty—even in a torrential downpour!

Theresa is survived by her brother Michael (June) Esser of Colstrip, MT; her sister’s Linda (Darryl) Moore of Miles City, MT and Brenda (Steve) Koski of Tucson, AZ; her nephew’s Rex Moore, Tim Koski, Andrew Koski, Ethan (Vanessa) Esser, and Dalton Esser; her niece’s Melissa (Blakeley) Winslow, Blthye Esser, and Madalyn Moore; Godly chosen nieces Stephanie Smith and Jenna Wade and numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved family member, “Grandma Mary”; special lifelong friends Gloria Bandaras, Karen Charles, Linda Walker and Martha Crandall. She was proceeded in death her by parents, Dave and Marlene Esser, infant brother Joseph Esser and niece Nicole Esser.

A vigil will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 6:00PM (MST) at Stevenson Funeral Home in Miles City, MT. A Catholic Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery and family and friends are invited to a luncheon in honor of Theresa at the Riley Center at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

Love and thoughts of a friend I knew
Was a better person, when with you
Memories of a ball thrown so fast
Teaming up with T always a blast
Passion for softball, rock & roll, cheer
    Jumping and climbing without fear
Together we were meant to roam
A daughter’s duty kept you home

Secrets, crushes, chocolate, oh, times we shared
The sin of lost contact now bared
    A sister of my heart
    Even a country apart
One of the godly people, through my years
Violet, Tara, Theresa, so many tears
    Thus the Silent Nights abide
In Jesus’ arms you now reside
Prayer, pool, Petty and a mustang’s roar
Memorizes fade, antics become our lore
An aching heart for this world without
FOREVER FRIENDS IN PARADISE, no doubt
