Thomas John Necklace, age 36, of Ft. Totten, North Dakota and formerly of Ft. Kipp, Montana went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2007 due to a drowning accident near Gram Island, Ft. Totten, North Dakota.
Thomas was born October 1, 1970 to Cordelia Mae (Necklace) Dust and Clarence Follow The Road in Poplar, MT.Thomas attended grade school in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1990. While in school he participated in various sports including basketball, track and cross country.Thomas enjoyed traveling with his best friend, Del First. During his travels he made new friends every place he went. Thomas loved to make people laugh by telling jokes and teasing. He always greeted others with a smile and it didn't matter if he knew the person.Thomas greatest pride and joy were his two children, Alex and Morgan. He also enjoyed being around his numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Cordelia (Necklace) Dust; sisters, Elsie Lenore Dust and Arlene Buck Elk; a brother, Allen Follows The Road; great-grandparents, John and Elsie Necklace; grandparents, Felix Necklace and Christine Youngman, Tom and Lucy Follows The Road, Lucille Chopper and Victoria Martin; uncles, Harold, Michael and Philmore Necklace, Joseph, Clifford and Charles Good Soldier; nephews, Quannah M. and Michael J. Necklace; and a cousin, Alphine (Necklace) Youpee.Thomas is survived by his father, Clarence Follow The Road of Ft. Yates, ND; his children, Alex and Morgan Necklace of Billings; his sisters, Florence Necklace of Billings, MT, Rochelle and Deana Necklace of Ft. Totten; brothers, Dean Necklace of Billings, Elvis Eagle of Poplar; niece, Chastity (Ryan) Parker; nephews, Miccah Dust and Michael Bauer of Billings; grandmothers, Corretta (Good Soldier) Yankton, Catherine Spotted Bird, Rita Long Chase and Florence Eagleman all of Poplar, Josephine Black Dog and Carol Spotted Bird of Brockton, Serena Good Soldier of Ft. Kipp, Faye Peterson and Myrna Charbonneau of Poplar; grandfathers, Mike Youngman of Poplar and Leland (Doris) Spotted Bird of Brockton; uncles, Russell Necklace of Poplar, William (Arletta) Necklace of Brockton, Peter and Oscar Follow The Road of Ft. Yates, ND, Vernon (Donna) Chopper of Wagner, SD, Lester Fast Horse and Leonard (Sonny) Martin of Poplar, MT, and Melvin Good Soldier of Poplar; aunts, Ruth Necklace (Terry), Charlotte Good Soldier, Nancy and Lorna Martin all of Poplar, Aletha Chopper, Priscilla Carpenter and Violet (Henry) Buck Elk all of Ft. Thomas is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in North Dakota, Georgia and Montana to numerous to mention. His extended families were the Spotted Bird, Youngman, First, Chopper, Follows The Road, and Four Bear.
