His church was out in the open country under the sky. Tom was called home on November 25, 2013.
Tom was born on September 12, 1954 to George and Regina (Sabe) Nielson in Hardin Montana. Tom went to school in Custer, Hysham, and graduated from Forsyth. He loved to be on the ranch, play cards, visiting with people, hunting, fishing, riding horses, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tom always had a smile on his face, and a big heart, and would do anything you asked, and would always leave an impression on people. Tom was honest, had a loyalty to everything and everyone he encountered, and was known for his virtue and work ethic. Tom always said that if he had known how great grandkids were he would of had them first.
Tom is survived by his wife Judy, Grandson Rustie Lane Nielson, four sons: Twaine Shick of Forsyth, Chad (Barbara) Shick of Laurel, Jody Nielson (Kathy) of Forsyth, Josh (Amber) Nielson of Forsyth, daughter Tanina Cornelius, grandchildren: Miekel Kreg Zard, Joey Walnofer, Cody Shick, Kyle Shick, Anna Marie Shick, Trinity Jean Nielson, Lily Noel Burkle, Brayden Ray Nielson, Preston James Nielson, Quinton David Nielson, Siera Murnion, Taylor Murnion, Drakia Vallie, Cheyanna Cornelius Farwell, brothers Dan (Betty Lou) of Billings, Jim (Holly) of Ranchester WY, sisters Julie Arbogast of Hardin, Barb Wooten (Claude) of Elizabethtown, TN, Uncle Dick Sabe of Custer, Aunts Eileen Corber of Custer, Mary Quest of Hysham, Ruth Spark of Washington and Marie Barnes of Big Horn. Tom is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents George and Regina Nielson, and his sister Nona Rabideau.
