Thomas C. Toscano was born in Livingston MT, on June 3, 1953 to Antonio and Amelia (Just) Toscano. He grew up in Livingston MT, where he attended school and graduated. From an early age Tom enjoyed playing in the hills around Livingston and had a passion for automobiles. In 1976 he met Sheryl Toscano at the University of Oregon Hospital in Portland, OR. The running family joke was when Tom and Sheryl met at the hospital Tom couldn’t see and Sheryl couldn’t talk. At that time Sheryl worked at Plush Pippin in Portland and every time Tom had to travel over to Oregon for eye check-ups he would visit his sweetheart and enjoy a piece of strawberry pie. This is where their journey began.
On May 7, 1977 they were married in Portland and shortly after, moved to MT. Tom and Sheryl lived in Livingston where he worked for the “Bad News Railroad”-as he called it. In late 1977, he finished his plumbing and pipefitting apprenticeship. After his apprenticeship, Tom came to Colstrip on many occasions where he installed the plumbing in the Isabel Bills Elementary School. He was also a pipefitter during the construction of the power plants.
In 1980, they welcomed their first and only child, Jeff. By 1982 the family moved to Colstrip. Tom pipefitted for many years in the surrounding areas of Billings and Laurel. He finally accepted a job with the Montana Power Company in December of 1986, worked as a mechanic and later retired from there with over 30 years of service.
During his 40 years of living in Colstrip, Tom was a devout Catholic. He spent countless hours serving the church in many different ways. He cherished all the friendships and people he met over the years. In the late 90s, Tom and Sheryl built a cabin in western MT and he never missed a chance to tell stories about it to anyone. He absolutely loved camping and the outdoors.
In his spare time, Tom enjoyed going to swap meets, demo derbies, bump and runs, car shows, and watching NASCAR and Barrett Jackson car auctions. If you knew him, you knew how much he loved his family, friends, dogs and of course the Ford Mustang. During retirement he enjoyed driving his 3 Mustangs, working on jigsaw puzzles, spending time with family and friends, blasting his good time oldies and “putzing around” and “tinkering with things” in his garage.
Tom’s pride and joy were his grandsons Slade and Blake. He was delighted to drop them off and pick them up from school everyday. He always asked how their school work was going. He never missed any type of event they were involved with. He treasured every opportunity to tell everyone how proud he was of their accomplishments.
Tom loved and supported his son Jeff each and every day. He always helped him achieve his goals and was the epitome of what an outstanding father should be.
The true love of his life was Sheryl.
He was very selfless throughout his entire life and he routinely put others before himself.
Thank you dad, “Papa” for all your hard work, guidance, and sacrifices you made for our family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Antonio (Amelia) Toscano, brothers John and Jim, wife Sheryl, in laws Richard (Patricia) Toepfer, cousin Glenn Williams,
He is survived by his son Jeff (Connie) Toscano, grandsons Slade and Blake Toscano, Harrison and Calvin Full, cousins Dave Amsk, Nick Amsk, Mike Amsk, Russ (Linda) Thuesen, Alecia Thuesen and her children Kasen and Kira, Kyle Thuesen and his son Kyle, niece Jen (Jim) Napier and their children Jack and Jorjia Napier

Tom and I graduated from Park High together in 1972. I remember he left for Colstrip and I left for Missoula. Tom was always in my home room because we were at the end of the alphabet. I can picture him walking in with his mischievous grin as I write this 50 years later. I have thought of Tom many times over the years. Even though we grew very distant as time passed, I will always value our friendship. My sympathies to you.

I knew Tom in Park County HIgh School. I have quite a few memories of our days at the plants. He was always upbeat and people enjoyed his sense of humor. Jeff and family our prayers are with you during this time of loss. One of the memories I have of him was changing out the targets on the steam blow piping on Unit 3. I was a best friend of Tom for only a year or so when we lived in Livingston. I’m pretty sure we got to write on or color one wall and after they’d paint over. We ran & biked all over the hills where the Fish & P for Park was plus swimming in the ditch. Our dads worked for NP railroad @ that time. Lost touch when we moved back to the farm out of Clyde Park.. My condolences to the family. Randy Bratland
