In Memory Of

Timothy B. Thompson, age 64, of Hysham

June 20, 1956 – September 9, 2020

Timothy Boyd Thompson, 64, of Hysham, MT, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2020 at Hysham, MT. Tim was born June 20, 1956 to Boyd and Sally (Badure) Thompson at Mobridge, SD. He spent his youth in Timber Lake, SD where he attended Timber Lake Public School through his Junior year. Tim graduated from Earnest Righetti High School at Santa Maria, CA and the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also lived in several California cities, Hawaii, and Missouri. Tim’s broad and eclectic interests and desire for knowledge was impressive; animals, books, computers, cooking, and music were a few of Tim’s pasions. He was an avid writer and wonderful storyteller; his bouts of wisdom and engaging stories will be missed.
Tim was a beloved father, son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend to many, including the veterinary community where he was employed. He shared a special relationship with his Aunt LaVon (Vonnie) Adair while living in Hysham, MT for the past several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Tim is survived by his daughter, Amara Victoria Schubert, sister Rhonda Lea (Phoenix) Martinez, brother Kelly G. (Susan) Thompson, nieces, Bailee Marie Thompson and Shelby Lea Thompson, Aunts LaVon (Vonnie) Adair and Violet (Vi) Hagstrom, Uncle Allen Badure, and numerous cousins.

LaVonn we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Tim was a great help when we needed something at the clinic; and fixing my computer when I would goof it up.
Prayers to all of you for your loss.

Tim was a wonderful guy- spiritual and inquisitive. His library of books was unmatched. We shared a daughter Amara Schubert, and he gave me the gift of wonder and the ability to move beyond the conventional. For that I’m eternally grateful. Tim will be so missed.

My favorite memories of Tim are long walks with him and his dog, Sam, spiritual and philosophical “discussions”, an abundance of tea sitting on the living room floor in front of the fire.

My father was (is!) a unique soul that I doubt will be easily matched in this world. We shared a love for animals, books, and learning about different cultures. My favorite memories include our many visits, swapping book recommendations, and our philosophical discussions. Even when I was a kid, we could talk about complex ideas. He had an ability to teach me something new every time we connected. I will greatly miss him. As he would say, I am sending much aloha to everyone during this time.

Tim was a cool dude! The Thompson family has always been a part of my life & Tim played a major piece. Tim has a way at looking towards life with the eyes of a mystic and that awe & wonder of the unknown has helped in my own journey of believing. He always made time to engage in deep conversations anytime we gathered as family & he will be missed.

    LaVon and family ,
Tim was a very special person and a dear friend to myself and my pets. Tim would come over to help me with my computer problems, which were alot of visits. After the business part of our visits my dogs wanted to visit with Tim also. I will miss our visits and will remember Tim forever. He loved Vonnie very very much as well as his pets in his family home. Hysham lost a dear friend who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
