I am a stranger to most of you. In fact, I have never met Tim or his family in person. Tim was a friend of mine through facebook, and it was through his amazing, generous, energetic, loving spirited photos and posts, I could see what a great human being he truly was. I saw his great love for his family and his oyate. I saw how he lifted and encouraged the youth in his community. I saw his heart break when he lost precious family. I saw him get back up and put the youth in front of his own feelings. I saw him always thinking of others, and because of these things, i will always admire and respect this man, Tim Whistling Elk for his courage, strength, selflessness, pride in his people and his precious heart. I am lifting all of you in prayer this evening, and saying goodbye to someone I consider to be a friend.
Please accept our deepest, heartfelt condolences.

Today as I sit here I have only one thought~ What about Rachel? I know couples who met and have stayed together but personally I remember when Tim was so smitten by you Rachel. I still see the “youth” in your eyes and his. I sit thinking WOW you’ve come so far in your lives, having children, raising children and just “lasting” and “loving” and these all years. Rachel I commend you for growing with Timbob, learning with him and showing him “real” love. He loved and missed NewtaMae but with you he truly was never alone. You had his back thick or thin. I saw that in his posts and in the brief times we talked. I regret not fulfilling his request for some money a week ago. I just didn’t have any to give. I have the utmost respect for you and continued love for all your children. May you be lifted up and blessings to calm you.
