Todd Pierce, June 10, 1963- July 5, 2009Todd Pierce, 46, Colstrip, MT died suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on July 5, 2009 on his way home from a family reunion.
Visitation and rosary will be held from 7 pm MDT Wednesday, July 8, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Colstrip, MT. Services will be held at 10 am, MDT, Thursday, July 9, at Colstrip High School Auditorium with Father Paschal Siler and Deacon Bill Medved officiating. Memorial service will be July 10, 10 am MDT, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Scranton, ND with burial following at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Todd was born June 10, 1963, a son of Donald and Fae (Henderson) Pierce in Bowman, ND. Todd was baptized and confirmed at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman. He graduated from Bowman High School in 1981. He excelled in sports and loved working on the family farm and ranch. He attended Wahpeton College, graduating with a degree in welding and metallurgy. He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Symanowski (Scranton, ND) in 1984. Together they raised two sons, Preston, 23 and Jordan, 22. Todd and Jane moved to Colstrip, MT in 1991. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a mechanic at the power plant. His loyal service was interrupted for several years by a brave battle with cancer and treatment complications. Despite his multiple surgeries and setbacks he was always looking forward to resuming work and spending time with his family. During his healthier times he loved to golf, hunt, fish and boat with his family and friends. It was a rare occasion when Maggie, his special dachshund friend wasnt right there beside him.Todd was a proud father and husband. He supported Jane through college as a teacher and physicians assistant. Preston and Jordan are both serving in the military today because of his strong patriotism and support. Eldest son Sgt. Preston, National Guard, works as an apprentice lineman in Billings, MT. Jordan was recently commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, following graduation from Purdue University. Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Pierce and Maurice and Gladys Henderson.
Todd is survived by his parents, Fae Pierce of Tucson, AZ, Donald and Debra Pierce of Bismarck, ND; wife, of 25 years, Jane; two sons, Preston and Jordan; brother, Troy (Kellie) Pierce of Bismarck; 3 sisters, Darcy Hermoso of Gig Harbor, WA, Doreen (Shawn) Murphy of Kauai, HI, and Desiree Pierce of Los Angeles, CA; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Evelyn Symanowski (Scranton)
