Tom R. Young, age 47, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home in Miles City.
Tom was born in Tucson, Arizona on August 30, 1965, the son of Ivan and Phyllis (Pierce) Young. He attended schools in Tucson, Arizona and Wolf Point, Montana. He worked in the oil fields for A&S manufacturing in Poplar. At the age of 19, Tom was involved in a tragic car accident near Miles City and due to injuries; his life changed becoming paraplegic and making Miles City his home since.
Tom loved attending demolition derbies and bump and runs which he was the pit boss for the Brew Crew Racing Team, and cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Tom is survived by a son, Nick Blouat of Wolf Point, MT; three brothers: Ivan Young of Scottsdale, AZ; Terry Young of Miles City, MT; and Dave Young of Billings, MT; two sisters: Donna Lanchbury of Miles City and Nancy Briedenbach of Miles City, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. I loved it when we run into each other around town and we start talking about Demo Derbies and NASCAR. His face and eyes would just lights ups with big twinkle of joy. You could see he was thinking how to make the next derby car better. 😀
