On the morning of Feb 13, 2025, Travis Eugene Reyman peacefully passed away after a brief battle with Lung Cancer at Prairie Community Hospital in Terry, Montana. He was in the loving presence of his wife Darlene and daughter Juli.
Travis was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Terry to Earl and Hazel (Bartley) Reyman. Travis was the youngest of three children, including his older sisters Marvel and Beverley.
Travis attended school in Terry, graduating in 1951. After a successful high school basketball career, he then attended the University of Montana for one year to play freshman basketball for the Grizzlies. Travis returned to Terry and eventually joined the Marine Corps. He loved his time in the Marine Corps. After serving three years he moved to California to work with his brother-in-law Jerry Kasper. This was short lived however, as the little sister of his classmate Art Solle and good friend Ed Solle had started to write him during his time in the service. This led to a brief courtship and marriage to the love of his life Darlene Solle. They were married on June 12, 1958, at the Presbyterian Church in Terry, MT.
After the death of Earl Eugene in 1958 Travis and Darlene took over ownership of the Reyman Hardware for 35 years, then selling to Elden and Laris Netzer. After retirement Travis enjoyed following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. He was very proud to be called Grandpa Travis, Papa Travis and Grandpa Montana.
Travis was a strong figure in the Terry Community. He was a long-standing parishioner of the Presbyterian Church, a member of Terry Lodge #74 of Freemasons and a member of the Terry American Legion.
Travis is survived by his wife Darlene, son Reed (Sandra)Reyman, daughter Juli (Kurt)Wanner, Grandchildren Jake (Lindsey)Reyman, Erica (Reed)Lambert, Josh (Allison)Wanner, Jordan (Alli)Wanner & Jonny (Brooklyn)Wanner. 12 Great-Grandchildren, Sister Marvel Shearer, brother-in-law Bert (Diana)Solle and longtime special friend and bridge partner Jo Ann Norlin and fishing buddy Glen Meidinger.
Preceded in death by his Parents Earl & Hazel Reyman, Sister Beverley (Jerry)Kasper In-laws Al & Laura Solle, Art (Jessie)Solle, Ed (Karen) Solle & Marjorie Stepper
Funeral services with military honors will be held at Terry Presbyterian Church March 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm followed by a luncheon at the Legion. In Lieu of flowers Travis ‘s wishes were for memorials to be sent to Murn Park Playground Project c/o Town of Terry PO Box 650 Terry MT 59349.
Travis’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the amazing staff at Prairie County Hospital for treating Travis like family.
