The youngest of five siblings, Uribe “Sam” Sampson Eagle, age 35, began his journey over the milky way to reunite with his parents on November 7, 2023, in Los Angeles, California, where he was attending treatment.
Uribe struggled with diabetes at a young age, later getting both legs amputated. Uribe was born on December 21, 1987, in Crow Agency, Montana to Stanley and LaDonna Eagle. He attended kids at work head start, Ashland Public School, and then high school at Lame Deer. He enjoyed basketball in middle school and karate in Colstrip. He was also a traditional dancer.
In his adult years he worked for Northern Cheyenne Homecare Heritage Living Center as a cook, server, and a driver. He also worked at St. Labre Indian school as a night custodian. He helped his dad during basketball games and helped his dad clean floors every once in a while, for Lame Deer Catholic Church, Lame Deer IGA, and Green’s Grocery.
Uribe enjoyed listening to music, cruising and chilling with friends and family. He enjoyed cooking as well. Uribe was the kind of person who didn’t’ want to be a bother to anyone and had a kind heart. After the passing of his parents, he continued his life in Billings where he lived up until he left for treatment. He struggled but always managed to find a way to support himself.
Uribe is survived by his siblings Julie (Aldin), Katona (Marlin Sr.), Stanley Jr. (Rissa) and Mickey Eagle. Aunties Susan, Judith, uncles, Benny, LaVern, Theo, and Frank Eagle. On his paternal side Nathanial Chuck and Vina Dircks on his maternal side. His nieces Keshia, Harmonie, Jayna, Destinee, Dymond Rose, namesake Sammie, Lieya, Lydia, Myleigh and Enhnale, nephews Riley, Wylin, Yamini, Skip, Phillip, Aaron, and Thayon. His namesake Nathan Uribe. Grandkids Kingston, Tanya Lyn, and Mathias.
Uribe is preceded in death by his parents, sister Suzette Tanya and brother Darren. Special Aunties Rosie and Arlene Gray, Christina Roe.
