Uva Bardon, age 101, passed away December 19, 2012 at the Rosebud Healthcare Center in Forsyth.
Uva was born February 10, 1911 to George and Belle (Sprague) Jackson in Lee Montana. She attended school in Rosebud and graduated from high school in 1930.
As a young girl she would cook for line crews on Sweeney Creek and help her mother and father on the ranch.
On June 2, 1944 she married Marvin Bardon and to this union two sons were born, Bruce and Dennis Bardon.
She spent most of her life on Sweeney Creek raising her family with Marv and drove kids from the creek to school in an old Ford Station Wagon. She also delivered mail during this time. She and her husband were always going to listen to fiddle players and this was something she enjoyed doing.
She was active in community events and was involved in Rebbeka Auxiliary, 4-H, and Homemakers Club. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, and collecting dolls. She took great pride in her grandchildren, rarely missing any school programs and always taking time doing the little things with them that grandmothers do.
Uva is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Bardon, son Bruce Bardon, her parents George and Belle Jackson, and brothers Floyd and Robert Jackson.
She is survived by her son Dennis Bardon, granddaughters Tammy Vook, Jerette Mitzkus, Heidi Roberts, Amy Wright, grandson Jess Bardon, and several great grandchildren.

I’m so sorry to hear of Uva’s passing. Many of my Sundays growing up were spent with Uva at the Senior Citizens dinners sponsored by the Rosebud FHA. My mom also tells me stories of me enjoying horse racing at the County Fair with Uva when I was little! She will be missed.

Sorry to read of your mom’s passing, Dennis. She lived a long and full life. I remember my mom, Ellen, enjoyed Uva’s company so much and recalled many laughs they shared at the Rebeccah Lodge in Rosebud. I hope they are again enjoying those good times.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. She was one of the most remarkable women I knew. I have fond memories of riding in the old station wagon down Sweeney Creek Road to catch the school bus. We can only hope she is united with all her loved ones now. May God Bless.

Enjoyed my time working with Uva in the Nursing Home. She always would sneak me a piece of candy as she did when I was a little girl.
My condolences.

Saddened to hear of Uva’s passing. She and Marvin always stopped to talk to me wherever they saw me. Special lady. She will be missed greatly. My condolences to you and all the family of Uva.

Uva’s mother, Belle, and my maternal grandfather were first cousins. They loved to dance together as teens. After my grandsons moved to Forsyth, I told them we needed to go visit their cousin who was 100 years old. They were 4 & 9 years of age. I introduced them as Fay Buffington’s g-g-grandsons. Her ears and eyes perked up. She was making the connection. It was snack time, and she immediately gave them her cookies. We visited a bit, and the boys started to banter. Uva doubled her fists and made some strong punching motions toward them! Their eyes about popped out of their heads. On the way home they commented on how that lady really knew how to punch! (She never made contact with anyone, but her motions were strong and sure!) It became a memorable visit for all of us. We know she has found her peace and is in a much better place with loved ones gone before.

To the family: Sorry for your loss. I don’t remember a lot about Uva. I know that she was a sister to my Uncle Floyd (who was married to Bub (Hoff) Jackson (an aunt on my mother’s side of the family). When we use to visit Floyd/Bub, I remember passing Uva’s house and knowing we were getting close to Auntie Bub’s – I remember Bruce very well as a kid. Know that Uva was a “mainstay” on the Rosebud Creek….and she will be missed.
