Visitation: will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus.

Funeral Service: will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powder River Congregational Church in Broadus.

Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus.

Vera Rosencranz, age 77, of Broadus passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007 at the family home in Broadus.

Vera was born on April 5, 1930 on the family ranch at Ranch Creek, near Biddle, Montana, the daughter of Otto and Delma Johnson Smith. On June 16, 1951, she married Morris Rosencranz at Miles City. They had three sons: Roger of Seminole, Texas, born May 2, 1952, Clifford of Rice, Minnesota, born February 18, 1955, and Darrell of Broadus, Montana, born June 26, 1958. While being a dedicated wife and mother, she spent countless hours hand washing and drying clothes for many people in the Broadus area. In 1966, she started working at the Broadus School as a cook and continued working there along side of her longtime friend Beth Schneidt until 1979. At that time, she retired and continued her dedication to her family. Vera loved playing cards, dice games, watching deer and birds, and crocheting blankets.

Vera is survived by three sons, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Velma and Violet, brothers Edward and Richard and her husband Morris.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powder River Congregational Church in Broadus.
