What can I say about Aunt Vera that hasn’t already been said? So many lovely tributes about her kindness, grace and gentleness.

I loved her like a mother, and being my mom’s older sister, I guess she was more a mother than my aunt. She was kind, caring, sincere, loving and fun. I loved spending time with Aunt Vera and Uncle Allen.

When I was in kindergarten she was one of my teachers. I couldn’t understand why all the kids called her Mrs. Schiller! I told them, she isn’t Mrs. Schiller! She is Aunt Vera! The kids started calling her Aunt Vera from then on! She didn’t mind!

I have so many memories of Aunt Vera. I can’t remember a time when she wasn’t there! She was a great cook. I especially loved her homemade tortillas, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies and the casseroles! And we can’t forget the cream syrup! Yum!!

She was such a big part of my life. Her passing leaves a big hole no one can fill. She was one of the good ones. I miss her so much. I am thankful I will one day see her again. I love you, Aunti! This isn’t goodbye, just I’ll see you later. Tell Unc I said hello!!

I echo my sister’s (Kathi Pfeifle) words. Aunt Vera was an awesome Christian lady whom I loved dearly. I have the hope and assurance that I will see her again in Heaven one day.

    December 20, 2021 at 7:57 pm

My condolences to Kay Lynn, Wes, the rest of the Schiller and extended families.

I only had the honor of meeting Mrs. Schiller a few times. However, her kind and loving nature made a lasting impression. She was so kind and thoughtful. I never knew her without a huge smile on her face. Her humility kept her from seeing (or admitting) her level of artistic talent. Her life was an example of how we should all live. I believe she heard the Lord greet her with the words “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” I’ll see her again some day. Until then we have the precious memories of our times together. May the peace of Christ comfort you.

Kaylynn, Jami, Wesley and Warren ~ I am so sorry for your loss. Vera was a very godly woman, and I would even venture to say an example of a Proverbs 31 woman! She was always so kind and gracious to our family, when so many people would have distanced themselves from us under the circumstances. I truly enjoyed getting to know her, going to church with her, and the family events she shared with us. She was so kind to my mother in her later years algo. I am praying for y’all and your families at this time and will continue to do so. I am sure she is glad to be in her Savior’s arms, as well as those of her husband, Allen.
