Vera Young, age 78, of Miles City died Thursday, April 21, 2005.
Born Vera Mae Coltrin in Miles City, Montana on March 18, 1927, she was the daughter of Charles and OpalColtrin. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1946 and then attended Presentation School of Nursing. On January 1, 1949, she married Melvin L. Young. They raised four daughters. She was a homemaker and provided childcare in her home for many children over 30 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church for more than fifty years, where she served as president of United Methodist Women and Esther Circle, and taught Sunday school for many years. Her many devoted friends include the very special Neighborhood Tea Party Association of Miles City, Montana, USA, Main Street.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Young of Miles City, MT; daughters, Kathy Young of Great Falls, MT; Marjorie Rohach of Dickinson, ND; Denise Young of Bozeman, MT; and MeldeneHuitt of Glencoe, MN; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister MarianNiedge of Miles City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with a reception luncheon to follow. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the Holy Rosary Hospice.
