Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery

VernoldJordan, age 78, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, April 07, 2005 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.

Vernold was born in Baker, Montana on May 18, 1926, the son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Green) Jordan. He attended schools in Baker and worked for area farms. He worked a short time in Seattle, Washington and married ErnaJunkert on July 24, 1943 in Vancouver, Washington.Vernold and Erna returned to Montana where he went to work for Montana Dakota Utilities at Little Beaver Compressor Station, 30 miles southeast of Baker. He moved into Baker, living there until 1981. He continued his employment with MDU at Hathaway as plant manager until 1988 where as he retired and moved into Miles City where he resided since. Vernold loved to help his family with whatever they needed from remodeling to helping his grandson.

Vernold is survived by his wife, Erna Jordan of Miles City, MT, two sons Dave Jordan and his wife Deb of Billings, MT, and Steve Jordan and his wife Carmen of Broadus, MT; two daughters Linda Hurley and her husband Jim of Baker, MT, and Vicki Clear of Miles City, MT; two sisters ShirleyBarth and her husband Reinhard of Baker, MT; and Luella Lintvedt and her husband Charles of Othello, WA; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Vernold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Virgil Jordan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery.
