Interment: will follow in the family lot in the Prairie County Cemetery
Vernon H. Kirkpatrick, age 79, lifetime resident of Terry passed away Wednesday morning, November 26, 2003 at the Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City.
Vernon was born in Terry, Montana on February 21, 1924 the son of Ernest and Myrtle (Tusler) Kirkpatrick. Vernon married Doris Nold on March 25, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vernon grew up on the family farm Southeast of Terry and lived there until January of 2002 when he moved to Miles City to live with his daughter Sue and family. Vernon dearly loved his wife, of 52 years and his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved animals and farm life was the only life for him. Hunting agates and looking at the cows and calves was Vernon's favorite past time After moving to Miles City, what he missed the most was the calving season and seeing all the baby calves running around the pasture.
Vernon is survived by his son, Gary and wife Iva Kirkpatrick and their children Dan and his wife Dawnya and children Micah and Shawnee, Randi Kirkpatrick and Michelle Kirkpatrick, all of Terry; and daughter Sue and husband Gene Cranford and their children James, Lindsey and Breanna of Miles City; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A sister Marion and husband Kenny Dunneman of Ballentine, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Linda Kirkpatrick and wife Doris Kirkpatrick, sisters Josephine (Sweet) and Ruth (Meidinger) and brother Wilbur Kirkpatrick.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Prairie County Cemetery.
