Vesta Lorraine Bromley Polich went to be with her Lord on July 18, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Vesta was born to Ed and Eva (Geiss) Bromley on August 15, 1918 at her family homestead in Rosebud, MT. Vesta attended grade school at Rosebud where she met the man she would eventually marry Art Polich. They attended school together at Rosebud until they graduated from Rosebud High School. After high school Vesta worked at the Rosebud Hotel and the Wallin Mercantile until Arthur and she were united in marriage on February 2, 1941 in Forsyth, MT. After they were married Art and Vesta lived at Cartersville on the family farm for the rest of their lives.
Vesta loved to garden, which is why she enjoyed planting a huge garden every year, she was especially known for her cantaloupe. She would can and process hundreds of jars of produce that she had raised. She also loved to cook traditional family dishes from the old country for her family. She took pride in caring and loving her family to the best of her ability. When she wasn’t caring or cooking for her family she enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting and going fishing. She had a special place in her heart for animals and she had several special dogs throughout her life including her faithful companion “Jiggs”.
Vesta is survived by her three sons Jim (Carol) Polich of Bozeman, MT, John (Linda) Polich of Miles City, MT, and Don (Heather) Polich of Forsyth, MT, her three grandchildren Sarah Polich of Forsyth, Rachel (Todd) Hull of Billings, MT, Matt (Alta) Polich of Spearfish, SD, two great-grandchildren Christian Parr and Lane Parr of Forsyth.

May I offer my sincere condolences to you on the death of Vesta. May your hearts find comfort in God’s Word where it states: “He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord will wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25:8) May your loved one awaken to a world where there will be peace (John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:11), no sickness (Isaiah 33:24), and no more troubles (Revelation 21:4) throughout eternity (Psalm 37:29). May your hearts find comfort and hope in God’s Word, family, friends and good memories at this time. My deepest sympathy to you.

Vesta and Art were close neighbors growing up in Cartersville and I remember them both well. When I was last to visit my Aunt Chuck, who also recently passed away, I stopped by Vesta’s room and we visited for a long time about the beautiful plants in her room and how best to care for them. So very very cheerful and a pleasure to visit.

Dear Coach Polich,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I lost my mother 20 years ago the 24 of this month. There is no one who can replace a mother. I empathize with your loss.
Coach I remember running track for you way back in the day. I remember your running with me from CCHS to the Pine Hills track where we used to work out. I couldn’t believe how fast and how far you could run at that time–40 years ago. You helped instill a love of running in me that took me beyond high school to road racing and even one marathon! All of our children enjoyed track and some even still compete in road racing today.
Coach I used to believe you were a little stern back in 1974. Now starting my 29th year of teaching (only a fraction of what you have taught), I understand and thank you for your example. Your influence on hundreds, no surely thousands of students will stand as an eternal testament to the love and fine upbringing of your mother. May God bless you during this time of reflection on her life, and may you know that families can be forever. With great memories and sincere appreciation, Jeff Witcher.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Vesta Lorraine Bromley Polich – I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in many beautiful memories of Mrs. Polich at this difficult time. The Bible tells us that it was never the Creator’s purpose for humans to suffer and die (Genesis 2:17, Romans 5:12). His word also gives us hope that soon the Creator will end all pain, suffering, and death. (Revelation 21:4) The promise of Paradise, the perfect conditions God originally intended for mankind in the Garden of Eden will include God’s “will being done as in Heaven also up on Earth” (Matt 6:9, 10). Please continue to be comforted by the many promises of a hopeful future in the Bible. (John 17:3).

The summer of 2010 I had the opportunity to visit with Vesta almost every week. She told
me the most wonderful stories about my grandmother and grandfather that I didn’t know very well. She made me kitten dish towels that are in use and I will always think of her when I use them. She loved hand massages and told me how happy it made her when Rachel would paint her nails. She was was a wonderful woman and will be missed.
