Vi Jewell was born in Vananda, Montana, April 27, 1921, and passed away August 27, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
After graduating high school, she moved to Walla Walla, WA where she met and married Al Jewell.
They resided in Walla Walla for thirty years, where they raised their two sons.
In 1970 they moved to Spokane, where Vi began a 25 year career in the mortgage loan industry. She was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and served on numerous committees.
Vi was an avid golfer and member of Downriver Golf Course. Her other hobbies included gardening and cooking.
Vi spent the last several years of her life in the health care unit of Rockwood at Hawthorne and was dearly loved by all of her caregivers there.
Vi is survived by her two sons, Greg Jewell, wife Anita, of Kaploei, Hawaii, grandchildren Jennifer and Daniel, and Gary Jewell, wife Vicki, of Gilroy, California, three sisters, Esther Nelson of Spokane, Ruth Griggs of Kennewick, WA, and Vera Williams of Santa Rosa, California. Two brothers, Ervin Bendewald of Spokane and Otto Bendewald of Forsyth, Montana, along with numerous nieces and nephew.
Al, her husband of 65 years, preceded her in death in 2006.
