Early in the morning on December 18, 2017 Louise left the confines of this earth after 80 years for the perfect peace of heaven as she was surrounded by her family. She spent the last month of her life being very well cared for in McCone County Health Center in Circle, MT.
Louise was born in Tennyson, Texas on October 26, 1937. She was the youngest child of Maudie and W.E. “Bill” Burleson.
She joined her sister Billie and brother Roy in attending the country school at Tennyson until they moved to the city of San Angelo, Texas. She grew up and was baptized in the Baptist church. On May 11, 1953 Louise was home alone playing hooky from high school to finish a paper that was due that day and she was fortunate to live through a devastating tornado that hit the house. As she watched everything flying into and around the house she survived by clutching her grandmother’s Bible and praying. She graduated from Lake View High School at the age of 16 and started working as a telephone operator.
At a roller skating rink one night she used her “ladies choice” to ask a handsome young airman named Henry (Hank) Green to skate with her, after another girl swooped in and took her first choice. This initial skate went well enough to lead to their marriage two years later in 1957 and to 60 years of married life.
The couple initially lived in Puyallup, Washington since Hank was stationed at the McCord Air Force Base, and then moved to Jordan, Montana in 1958. Louise worked at the county clerk & recorder’s office in Jordan and then later at the post office. The couple had three children, Kathy, Dan, and Bill, while living in Jordan and made many life-long friends. They later moved to Circle, Montana in 1979 when Hank accepted a new position with McCone Electric.
Some of Louise’s favorite things in her later life were grandchildren & great grandchildren, cats, anything Texan, and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Throughout Louise’s entire life she was passionate about her faith and her relationship with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Roy Burleson, and her sister Billie Chishum.
Louise is survived by her husband Hank Green, her children Kathy (Art) Eustance, Dan (Annette) Green and Bill (Rachel) Green, 10 grandchildren including Lavonne (Ryan) Dunster, Colin (Whitney) Manuel, Tom (Kim) Eustance, Kate (Nathan) Fasbender, Megan (Ladd) Gordon, Jane Eustance, Austin Green, Evan Green, Daniel Green, and Nathan Green. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren including Mercedes, Esme, and Harrison Gordon; Regan and Abby Eustance; Huckleberry and Obi Fasbender; SethHenry, Kelten and Adeline Dunster; Jadie and Myla Manuel and their soon to be born brother.
A special thanks to all of Louise’s friends and extended family that visited her during the last part of her life, to the home health staff Beth and Gail that cared for her respectfully and lovingly, and to Patti Wittkopp, PA-C and the entire staff at McCone County Health Center that treated her so well.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 with family receiving friends from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Celebration Services for Louise will be at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan, MT on Friday, December 22, 2017. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com or by mailing them to Hank Green at P.O. Box 357, Circle, MT 59215. Should friends desire, a memorial may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
