Violet Lillian Griggs passed away on October 21, 2004 at Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
She was born Violet Lillian Baskerville on January 21, 1916 in Plymouth, England. In 1921, Vi came to the United States with her widowed mother, Florence Lily Baskerville, to live on the ranch of her uncle, Jack Huxtable, at Garland, Montana on the Tongue River.Violet attended school in Miles City and married George Welch. She later married Dan Griggs. She worked at Foster Drug and La Grandeurs Grocery in Miles City. Violet had two children who preceded her in death Maureen Hunnes and Daniel Griggs. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Fern Griggs of Billings, grandchildren Vicki Grasser of Columbia Falls, Carrie Van Krieken of Billings, Jackie Hunnes of Miles City and Jeff Hunnes of Billings, along with several great grandchildren.
Vis family wishes to thank the many kind people at the Custer County Rest Home and Holy Rosary Extended Care for the years of kindness and excellent care that they provided to her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
